Unfortunately, the Easter Craft Afternoon has been cancelled for this year due to Covid19.
Paul Chan, with trumpeter Jake Krishnamurti, will present an exciting programme including Prelude and Fugue in E-flat major BWV 552 by Bach, Sonata in D by Purcell, and Prayer of St Gregory by Alan Hovhaness. Jake will also play famous trumpet tunes such as Te Deum by Charpentier and Rondeau by Purcell, interspersed with organ solo works including Elizabethan Serenade, Highland Cathedral, and a Norwegian composition.
Paul is currently the organist of St Matthew-in-the-City and King’s College in Auckland. Jake is a recent graduate in classical trumpet and computer science and has performed with the APO and Auckland Youth Orchestra.
Christopher Hainsworth
Presents a mainly light-hearted concert organised around the birthdays of the class of ’19 (Strozzi, L.Mozart, C.Schumann, von Suppé and Offenbach) and the class of ’20 (Vieuxtemps, Beethoven and Vierne), not forgetting Rossini’s 55th birthday (on February 29th!) and a surprise or two…
Based in France, Christopher returns to his home country of New Zealand, performing concerts with outstanding skill and showmanship.
Christopher is well known in the NZ organ world as an entertaining classical organist. He studied organ with prominent NZ Organists and with Jean Ferrard (Professor at the Conservatoire of Brussels).
Chris has been free-lancing in France and around Europe for 30 years, often travelling with his fortepiano or harpsichord.
When not playing, Chris has also been Associate Professor of Music at Waikato University, Director of Beziers Conservatoire (France), Director of Music at Hamilton Cathedral and Organist «titulaire» of Beziers Cathedral (his current position)
Chris is also keen on popular music and accompanying silent movies and has accompanied New Zealand silent film at the Wroclaw International Film Festival.
